Fondazione AIRC per la ricerca sul cancro

AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research is the main non-profit organization for the financing of independent cancer research in Italy, thanks to donations from citizens and companies that share its mission: a community of people committed to making cancer increasingly curable.

Since 1965, it has supported thousands of research projects that have produced concrete results for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and have contributed to the growth of the Italian scientific community and the training of its young talents. AIRC raises funds thanks to 4.5 million supporters, 20 thousand volunteers and 17 territorial offices, and assigns them transparently to the most deserving cancer research projects, on which approximately 6 thousand researchers work today in over 100 institutes throughout the country. It spreads the culture of health and prevention in schools, in squares, in companies and through the media.
