Foundation Serena ONLUS is a healthcare and social reality, active in the field of care, assistance, research, and dissemination on neuromuscular disorders. Through the network of NeMO Clinical Centers, we address over 20,000 families experiencing highly complex, chronic, debilitating diseases such as ALS, SMA, and Muscular Dystrophies, which currently lack a cure.

The NeMO Clinical Centers are structured like hospital departments with rooms for both regular and high-complexity hospital stays, pediatric areas, gyms, and common spaces. Our Foundation establishes its centers within major hospitals in the territories following extensive renovation and adaptation campaigns: Ancona – Riuniti, Bologna – Bellaria, Genova – La Colletta di Arenzano, Brescia – Richiedei di Gussago, Milano – Niguarda, Napoli – Monaldi, Roma – Gemelli, Trento – Villa Rosa.

The multidisciplinary team accompanies every child, young person, and adult from diagnosis to end-of-life care, throughout the entire course of the illness and for all daily needs. This includes psychological aspects, communication difficulties, mobility challenges, nutritional concerns, integrating innovative therapies, new technologies, and devices, along with social and relational projects. Our existence and our multidisciplinary model are based on an alliance between the public, social private, and the continuous support of donors and companies who believe, like us, that we can improve people's quality of life and offer new hopes for treatment through the progress of research.
