Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death in Western countries, causing about 17 million deaths per year (40% of total deaths) and exceeding by far the mortality due to tumors.*

Since 1957 Gruppo Ospedaliero San Donato has been developing a first-class center for cardiovascular diseases treatment and research, which today has become the most important center in Italy and one of the most well-known in Europe, thanks to the constant development of diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic techniques. We will keep on supporting prevention and research to improve cures for all patients.
