Il Girasole delle Somasche

The association "Il GIRASOLE DELLE SOMASCHE ETS", was born in 2006 in order to support the communities, projects and initiatives in the world of the Congregation of the Missionary Daughters of San Girolamo Emiliani in favor of orphaned and abandoned youth. In these almost 20 years of activity it has supported reception communities for minors without families in Colombia, Guatemala, Salvador, Honduras, Philippines, Sri Lanka, through projects supported by a network of institutional and private partners.

The Association is non-partisan and non-denominational, as such it undertakes not to discriminate on the basis of race, nationality, religious denomination or gender.

The association mainly carries out activities of social solidarity and non-profit charity. The social and charitable action is concentrated with activities in the field of education, training and hospitality, adopting the socio-community model of the founder of the "Missionary Daughters of San Girolamo Emiliani" and their style operative based on an integral vision of the human person and on a multidimensional style of intervention.

It mainly makes use of the voluntary work of its associates and collaborators.

Since 2021 he has embraced the design idea of purchasing a property to be renovated to transfer the BorgoTreMani semi-residential center intended for minors and young adults from situations of social and mental hardship. The association bought the property with its own resources. The donations that will arrive through this auction will help support the costs of the renovation, the estimate for which is 800,000 euros.
