Rishilpi International Onlus
Rishilpi's journey began in 1977 in Bangladesh with the commitment to create job opportunities for the outcasts and marginalized "Rishi" community, with the aim of bringing changes in their lives, promoting their rights and dignity.
Progressively, addressing the needs of health care, education, childcare, Rishilpi has grown to become an international NGO, and in 2013 renamed Progetto Uomo Rishilpi International Onlus.
Today Rishilpi works for health, education, income generation activities, early marriage prevention and women empowerment.
Thanks to the sponsorship program, children can attend school in the Head Quarter in Satkhira from kindergarten to high school, and in the remote areas through 35 community primary schools. Health care is guaranteed through the main center in the Head Quarter and through 5 community rehabilitation centers located in the remote surrounding areas.
At the same time, Rishilpi carries out awarness and advocacy campaigns on hygiene and maternal and child health. Rishilpi has extended its work to all disadvantaged people in the Satkhira District in over 300 rural villages. Currently nearly 20,000 people benefit directly from the programs and around 60,000 people benefit indirectly, with the support of 272 people of the staff.
VISION: An opportunity for every boy and girl to make their dreams come true to become women and men aware of their role in the society.
