SPORTOUR Torino

SPORTOUR Torino is a non-profit Social Promotion Association (APS) established in 2021 in Turin by four professionals from the world of training, communication, events and management.

In 2021, its first year, SPORTOUR - thanks to a major sporting event and auctions on Charity Stars - was able to donate 11 sports wheelchairs for playing tennis (6 for children and 5 for adults) to the Italian Tennis Federation.

In 2022, funds raised went to finance the ENJOY EXTRA TIME project: from the Spinal Unit to the tennis court. The project provides a series of rehabilitation programs through wheelchair tennis. It was the Spinal Unit that identified the two people with spinal cord injuries from the Piedmont Region who were given the chance to try a series of tennis lessons and provided with all the equipment they needed: a guide for transport from their homes to the facilities, a means of transport, a sports wheelchair for playing tennis, sports equipment (racket, balls, sports clothing), tennis courts for scheduled hours of lessons and - of course - a federation teacher identified by the Italian Federation from those with a wheelchair teaching qualification.

In 2023, the fundraising will go to finance the competitive activity of one of the players who began playing tennis through the ENJOY EXTRA TIME project and has demonstrated tennis skills that have led them been selected to play tournaments across the national territory.
