The Circle

The Circle is a global feminist organisation co-founded by Annie Lennox that supports the most vulnerable women facing violence and injustice across the world.

We bring together changemakers, committed to standing in solidarity and action to fight for the safety and equality of marginalised women everywhere.

Over the past 17 years, The Circle has supported over 1.4 million people directly on women’s rights and empowered more than 700,000 women and girls facing violence, discrimination and fear globally. 

1 in 3 women face violence in their lifetime. We believe this is not inevitable and are working hard alongside grassroots organisations, our network and allies to help change this.

Together we have supported the creation of safe spaces and refuges, counselling, educational and workplace training programmes, emergency assistance and much more. 

The Circle also champions women’s economic empowerment for the most marginalised and has fought for a living wage for garment workers. A particular win has been the explicit inclusion of living wages as a human right within the EU’s ground-breaking Corporate Due Diligence Directive.
