After being discovered by a well-known choreographer during a street performance, Valentina, a belly dancing expert, fell in love with the delicate gestures and pirouettes of classical dance. The little mouse had never seen a dancer with so much potential and he decided to dedicate all his time to making her a true étoile. Two years later they appear together on the stage all over the world, as colleagues but also as the brightest couple of the moment.
The magic of the Circus with its fascinating and slightly mysterious characters, the sparkling lights, the intense colours: a wonderful world captured by Wanders in a limited series collection.
"Ballerina" is an elephant who loves classical dance. She dances together with her partner, a little mouse fascinated by her talent, twirling gracefully on a golden ball. Two romantic characters imagined by Marcel Wanders to give life to a poetic music box.
The platform contains the mechanism that produces the melody, for which Wanders chose the Entrance of the Gladiators by Julius Fučík, the well-known tune that opens circus shows throughout the world.
A sculpture-object to collect, dedicated to true admirers of applied arts.
“Ballerina” is produced in the Crusinallo di Omegna factory, the music box mechanism is handcrafted in Switzerland.
