The complete works of Eugenio Montale in a Meridiani box set.
The first volume contains the entire work in verse, with the anastatic reproduction of the first editions of La casa dei doganieri, Finisterre, Satura and Xenia.
The second volume is dedicated to prose and stories, books of "fantasy and invention" in which the traveler, Elzevirist and portraitist Montale is an acute and curious observer.
The other volumes collect journalistic and non-fiction texts, such as Montale's contributions to numerous literary magazines, work carried out with great scruple and almost never without passion, which he himself defined as his "second profession". They cover fifty years and there are almost a thousand critical prose on literature and society, effectively unknown to the general public, which are presented here for the first time in rigorous chronological order. Together with the journalistic prose, in addition to the author's collections (Auto da fé, Prime alla Scala), there are a large number of unpublished or little-known writings on art, music and society, as well as a selection of the poet's most beautiful and surprising interviews.
