Alastair Nathan Cook is an international cricketer and left-handed opening batsman.
He is the captain of the England cricket team in Test and ODI formats and plays for Essex County Cricket Club. He was named ICC Test Player of the Year and created a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2011.
He was also named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2012.
