"Welcome Mat" - Original work by Banksy.

Approximate size: 42 x 60 cm.

Take home this rare "Banksy Welcome Mat" work of which just 1000 pieces were produced worldwide. As shown in the photo gallery, this work was also showcased at the artist's incredible 2019 "Gross Domestic Product" installation/project held in Croydon, London.

This stunning mat was hand stitched using the material from life jackets abandoned along beaches of the Mediterranean. To produce the door mats, Banksy collaborated with the "Love Welcomes" organization which works with women held in Greek detention centers.

The work comes in its original packaging complete with series number label.

Banksy is the most sought after and most collected street artist. His works represent a safe investment destined to grow over time, adding value in addition to the intrinsic value of art. He made the concept of multiple pop art work even more interesting, becoming a point of reference on the art market with his posters and his items.

Banksy is known for urban interventions that demonstrate irreverent wit and scathing political comment. While maintaining his anonymous identity, the artist has altered street signs, illegally printed his own currency and illegally hung his work in the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art. He often uses spray paint and stencil in his critiques of consumerism, political authority, terrorism and the state of art and its exhibition. His street art, installations and studio-produced works have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, London, Bethlehem and beyond. His art has been the subject of widespread interest on the secondary market.
