Dress for Barbie designed by Andy Warhol, hand signed.

A tireless hunter of contemporary icons, Andy Warhol scanned faces, fetishes and stories linked to power, success, politics, the star system, money and the market. And in addition to a series dedicated to Mao and Marilyn, a work on canned soup and an obsessive reproduction of Mona Lisa, Warhol also turned his attention to icon of femininity tailored to glossy standards, the stuff of little girls' dreams. Barbie, the queen of Mattel, also featured on the king of pop's canvases.
The portrait dates back to 1986 and was commissioned by the American toy giant, which today houses the work at its headquarters in California. Her face is portrayed with quick graphic strokes with the features of Barbie Peaches 'n Cream, a particularly successful series produced in 1984.

The dress was a sample to be reproduced which never went into production, re-launched 30 years later with the Warhol Foundation.

The clothes are in fair condition and have been signed in felt-tip pen and branded with the stamp of the Foundation. They also bear the initials T.J.H. , i.e. Tim Hunt, former curator of the Warhol Foundation.
