A unique Bebeto Flamengo shirt from Campeonato Brasiliero 1987/88 or 1988/89. This shirt is from the early career of World Cup winner Bebeto. The Brazilian played 80 games for Flamengo from 1983-89 and scored 34 goals. He famously won the World Cup with Brazil in 1994.
He won the Brazilian league with Flamengo in 1983, when they beat Santos by 4-2 on aggregate. Aside from Bebeto this Flamengo team also included the legendary Zico.
In 1987 Flamengo won Copa União, which was a competition organized by Clube dos 13 – the most popular Brazilian clubs – who sought to make more money through sponsorships than they did through Campeonato Brasileiro. The four best teams from the two competitions were supposed to face off in playoffs to decide a national champion, but Flamengo and Internacional from Copa União refused to compete.
