On Saturday 30 April 2022 the 'Una Pedalata per Gio' memorial event was held with the cyclist Enzo Bernasconi, known as Berny, traveling the Milan-Cervia route with his Cinelli Saetta Sprint, one of the memorabilia auctioned to support the charitable projects of the Insuperabili Onlus, of which Giorgio was a footballer and a member for years.
Enzo Bernasconi lives north of Milan and has been enjoying traveling by bicycle for 30 years. In recent years he has pedaled alone, with friends and family (wife and daughter), reaching all five continents on his various trips. In recent years he has used his passion to support social / charity projects.
In 2020 Enzo combined his passion for cycling with another great passion for FC Internazionale Milano. This resulted in the cycling pilgrimage "Nella Terra dei Milito", "San Siro stadium - Terranova da Sibari", 1277km to reach the birthplace of Salvatore and Caterina, grandparents of Diego Milito, who then emigrated to Argentina, to discover his Calabrian history, to say thank you to one of the Triplete heroes and symbolically embrace all the Militos of Terranova da Sibari.
Enzo Bernasconi has decided to support the 'Una Pedalata per Gio - Per sempre Gio' initiative. Giorgio La Porta was a boy from Milan. He managed with autism his entire life, battling against clichés and stereotypes. He was big and strong and with a big heart that beat especially for Inter. In November 2020, at the age of 26, he contracted Covid and lost his final battle.
The Cinelli Saetta Sprint bicycle that Enzo used to cycle the Milan-Cervia route is up for auction.
