In over 30 years of acting, he has appeared in over 100 films and has won several awards, including two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. He received the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honor, from the Government of India in 2009. He is one of the most prolific actors in Indian cinema.
