Antonio Cassano is an Italian former footballer who played as a striker, European runner-up with the Italian national team in 2012. He is considered one of the strongest Italian strikers of his generation as well as one of the most talented in the history of Italian football. Raised in the Bari youth academy, at the age of 19 he moved to Roma, where he won the 2001 Italian Super Cup. In January 2006 he moved to Real Madrid, winning the championship in 2007. Back in Italy, he played for Sampdoria where, together with Pazzini, he contributed decisively to bringing Sampdoria back to the Champions League after several years. In the following years, he first played for AC Milan, where he won the 2011 Scudetto and another Italian Super Cup, and then for Inter. After two years with Parma, he ended his career at Sampdoria in 2017. In 2003 he made his debut for the Italian national team, with which he competed in three European championships and the 2014 world championship.
