"Decorated Skull" by Mercury.
Take home this incredible and detailed piece created as a unique piece by the artist Mercury. During a trip to Mexico, the artist's work was influenced by the so-called "Mexican skull" more commonly called "sugar skull". It is a symbol of the tradition of the Mexican people surrounding the cult of the dead who, unlike the more “sad” and “gloomy” Western culture, prefer to exorcise the moment with symbols full of color and celebration.
Mercury - a pseudonym to protect the talented artist's real idenity - is famous and esteemed both in Italy and throughout the world and his works are displayed in a number of private collections. His favourite subjects include the celebrities of the world of music and cinema, often depiected in distinctive shades of blue. The artist tends to donate his works for charity throughout the world.
On 25th September 2021, Mercury's works will be on display in Italy for the first time in his career in a collective exhibition that boasts the esteemed patronage of Sandra Milo.
