Diego Armando Maradona (Lanús, October 30, 1960 - Tigre, November 25, 2020) was an Argentine footballer, football manager and sports manager, who played as an attacking midfielder, world champion in 1986 and world runner-up in 1990 with the Argentina national team. Among the most controversial and iconic figures in the history of sport with an eccentric and polarizing personality on and off the pitch, El Pibe de Oro is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time and some believe him to have been the best ever.
