Pelé pseudonym of Edson Arantes do Nascimento (23 October 1940 – 29 December 2022), was a Brazilian footballer and sports manager, who played as a midfielder or striker. He is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time and some believe him to have been the best ever. Nicknamed O Rei, he was named the Footballer of the Century by FIFA, the International Olympic Committee and the International Federation of Football History & Statistics, and received the FIFA Ballon d'Or of the Century, voted by previous Ballon d'Or winners.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, Maradona was an Argentine professional football player and manager. He dragged Argentina to World Cup glory, triumphed in Italy and Europe with Napoli and won countless individual honours. Along the way, the footballing great scored some of the greatest goals the game has ever seen.
