Duran Duran, the iconic English rock band, was founded in Birmingham in 1978 by singer and bassist Stephen Duffy, along with keyboardist Nick Rhodes and guitarist/bassist John Taylor. With drummer Roger Taylor joining the next year, the band underwent several personnel changes until settling on their renowned lineup in May 1980, which included guitarist Andy Taylor and lead vocalist Simon Le Bon. Billboard notes that Duran Duran's record sales have surpassed 100 million, and their achievements include 30 top 40 singles in the UK Singles Chart (with 14 of them reaching the top 10) and 21 top 40 singles on the US Billboard Hot 100.
