Take home this incredible original work "Se Lit vlou" by Frédéric Bruly Bouabré.

About the artist

Frédéric Bruly Bouabré, also known as Cheik Nadro (11 March 1923 – 28 January 2014), was an Ivorian artist and writer. Also known under the pseudonym Cheik Nadro ("he who does not forget"). Belonging to the Bété ethnic group, he has contributed to recording and archiving the native culture through the creation of drawings which, with an essential and incisive style, portray human action caught in the simplicity of everyday life, as well as elements of oral traditions and personal visions imbued with a mystical sense of the world. Considered one of the greatest African artists, creator of an alphabetic system made up of 448 monosyllabic pictograms using pens and colored pencils on cardboard packaging as technical support, Bruly has achieved significant international recognition and has taken part in art exhibitions such as the Magiciens exhibition de la Terre at the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris (1989) and Documenta 11 in Kassel (2002), as well as at various editions of the Venice Biennale (1993, 2013).
