Special memento from the 1993 Tour to New Zealand, courtesy of Gavin Hastings' personal collection.
Gavin Hastings is a legend of Scottish rugby, having earned 61 caps for his country and scoring over 600 points.
He was born in Edinburgh and played for Cambridge University, Watsonians, London Scottish, University of Auckland and the Barbarians.
He also toured with The British & Irish Lions in 1989 and 1993 – skippering the side on the latter Tour. He played in all six Test matches across the two Tours and scored a try in the second Test in Australia in 1989.
Hastings was a leader of men on the field – captaining Scotland on 20 occasions as well as leading the Lions in New Zealand. The Scottish full-back was also a deadly goal-kicker and scored more than 150 points for the Lions.
A truly unique item with G. Hastings on the back. This is a personal favourite of Gavin's, worn on many occasions during the Tour.
