Gus Poyet is a retired professional footballer and current football manager.
Poyet's managerial career began in 2009 when he was appointed manager of Brighton & Hove Albion. He helped guide the team to promotion from League One to the Championship during his tenure.
He is considered one of the most successful Uruguayan footballers to have played in Europe, and he has also represented Uruguay at the international level, scoring three goals in 26 appearances.
