Don't miss your chance to bid on this incredible piece of memorabilia!

Jimmy Buffet's signature song from his album Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes was released on Valentine's Day, 1977. It was certified PLATINUM on December 14, 1977, and was heralded as the most requested song on rock/pop & easy listening radio for over a year. Buffett wrote most of the song in one night at a friend's house in Austin after he discovered the drink at Lung's Cocina del Sur restaurant (which is now High 5 today). He finished Margaritaville up in Key West and Jimmy Buffett was suddenly the "GURU" of Island music and that "frozen concoction." It remains his highest charting solo single.

This award was made by Ken Kittinger - well known as the premier gold & platinum awards maker on Music Row for 50 years before his death at 91 in 2016. It is authentic and ordered by ABC/Dunhill Records way back in the late 70's. But as with all his awards orders, the label requested at least 25% more inventory than they needed for their mailing list to DJ's, radio stations and music executives who were sent this in-house award in gratitude for their help in creating the sales needed for the Platinum certification from RIAA.

Mr. Kittinger had more than 5,000 items in his estate inventory from his Music Row workshop and numerous storage buildings on his property from his 5 decades of design and craftsmanship. He created awards for virtually every country artist and dozens of rock & pop artists from the U.S and abroad.
