The popularity of Joan Miro’s work and demand for his prints has continued to grow since his death in 1983.

Part of a 1975 series by the legendary Spanish Artist, this is plate 15 from the book ’Maravillas con Variaciones Acrosticas en el jardin de Miro’, an original lithograph in colours, from an edition of 1500 on Guarro paper, signed in the stone.

Born near Barcelona in 1893, Miró turned to art after moving to Paris. In 1923 his work saw a breakthrough when his symbolic-abstract style surfaced.

Considered one of the most important artists of his time, the poetic vision, drama and cheerfulness of Miró’s work shows a fascination with the primitive art of cave paintings.
