About Joan Miró
Born near Barcelona in 1893, Miró turned to art after moving to Paris. In 1923 his work saw a breakthrough when his symbolic-abstract style surfaced. Considered one of the most important artists of his time, the poetic vision, drama and cheerfulness of Miró’s work shows a fascination with the primitive art of cave paintings.
