Alessandro Nesta is an Italian football manager and former player, who played as a defender. World champion with the Italian national team in 2006, he was nicknamed Perfect Storm. After playing as a full-back at the beginning of his career, he came to be considered one of the greatest defenders of his generation and in the history of football. He has been included in the Ballon d'Or rankings three times, finishing fifth in 2000. In 2004 he was also included in the FIFA 100, the list of the 125 greatest living players, selected by Pelé and FIFA on the centenary of the federation.
