Paul Charles Merson is an English former football manager and former player, who played as a midfielder. Over the course of his professional career he played for Arsenal, Brentford, Middlesbrough, Aston Villa and Portsmouth, winning two English championships, a Charity Shield, an English League Cup, an FA Cup and a Cup Winners' Cup with the Gunners, and an Intertoto Cup with Aston Villa in 2001.
