Hidetoshi Nakata is a former Japanese footballer. Regarded as one of the greatest Japanese footballers of all time, he was elected Asian Footballer of the Year for two consecutive years (1997 and 1998). In 2004, Pelé also included him in the list of the 125 best living footballers. He played for Perugia, Roma and Parma in Italy, winning the 2000/01 championship with the Roman team and the 2001/02 Coppa Italia with Parma. He later moved first to Bologna on loan and then to Fiorentina, ending his career at Bolton after being loaned by the Tuscan club for a season.
