Junk is an Italian artist who has needed art since he was a boy. "I spent hours in the cellar looking for forgotten objects to bring back to life. I liked playing on the conceptual definition that people give things in their everyday use." The urge became stronger and stronger, he moved to television and the abstract objects from his "we need colors" collection soon arrived throughout Europe and the United States.
Social and income inequality has reached its highest level in the last 50 years. Wealth and power are concentrated in small areas and for a few people on the planet. The more inequality grows, the more divided people are.
This is the theme of the Cities Collection, created using television remote controls, a symbol of power (of communication) from the post-war period up to the advent of the internet.
