Gianluca Pagliuca is an Italian former footballer and commentator, who played as a goalkeeper. He was vice-champion of the world with the Italian national team in 1994. Often included among the best goalkeepers ever, one of the strongest in the world during the 90s, he spent the most brilliant years of his career with Sampdoria and Inter: with the Genoese club he won three Italian Cups, a Cup Winners' Cup, a Scudetto and an Italian Super Cup, while with Inter he won a UEFA Cup. He later moved to Bologna, spending six seasons in Serie A and one in B, before ending his competitive career in 2007, after a season in Ascoli, at the age of 40.
