Patti Smith is an American singer-songwriter, poet, and visual artist, who is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the punk rock movement. Her debut album, "Horses" (1975), is considered a landmark in the development of punk rock and has been widely acclaimed as one of the greatest albums of all time.
Smith has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to music and literature, including the Polar Music Prize and the Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres from the French government. She continues to tour and perform to this day, and remains a powerful voice for artistic expression and social justice.
