Ronald Edward Galella (New York, January 10, 1931) is an American photographer. He is recognized as the most famous "paparazzo" in the world and a pioneer of the genre.

He is famous for having shot numerous celebrities in their private lives and his photos have appeared in many newspapers. His work was the subject of much controversy and has been involved in numerous disputes with various showbiz personalities (including Jackie Onassis, Marlon Brando and Sean Penn). Over the course of his career he has received nicknames including "Paparazzo Extraordinaire" coined by Newsweek with Time and Vanity Fair calling him the "Godfather of U.S. paparazzi culture". Over his 40-year career, he has shot more than 3,000,000 photographs capturing some of the biggest names (including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, Liz Taylor, Elvis Presley, Robert Redford, Marlon Brando, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cher, Michael Jackson, Robert De Niro, Mick Jagger, Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Anna Magnani and Roberto Benigni). The prices of his photos range from 4,000 to 15,000 dollars.

In 2010 Leon Gast produced a documentary about him entitled "Smash his camera", presented at the Sundance Film Festival that same year.
