While working for the family business, Jacopo Foggini discovered the versatile nature of methacrylate, a material generally used in the production of car reflectors. Enchanted by the aesthetic and chromatic qualities of this thermoplastic resin, similar to glass yet tremendously light, Foggini started experimenting its use since the late ‘90s.
After his debut in 1997, he went on to open his personal gallery in Milan and create a book dedicated to the production of his unique handmade pieces. Foggini's light sculptures can be found in permanent collections of prestigious institutions around the world.
Inspired by the vibrant and elusive movement of water, Jacopo Foggini has created his own aesthetic and design revolution with the visionary use of polycarbonate. Unique and spectacularly light pieces are in continuous elaboration, currently at the J. Jungle chapter: a collection of sophisticated vases of apparent simplicity in two sizes and infinite color variations, each different from the other, inverting the designer's signature imagery with the smaller scale that is deliberately heavy: if the object is not out of scale, its intrinsic weight makes it precious. Rich both in substance and color, the J.Jungle vases bring the spectacle of tropical forests to an urban and everyday form.
