Marco Verratti (born 5 November 1992 in Pescara) is an Italian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain and the Italian national team, where he won the European championship in 2021. He is considered one of the best European talents of his generation. Early in his career, he was often compared to Andrea Pirlo. He linked his career to Paris Saint-Germain, where he won 30 trophies making him the club's most successful footballer. He holds the record for victories in Ligue 1, in the Coupe de France (6), in the Coupe de la Ligue (6) and in the French Super Cup (9). In the latter competition he also holds the record for appearances (9). He has made 55 appearances and scored 3 goals with the Italian national team.
