Roy Lichtenstein 'Why Brad Darling' Poster Signed (#0377)
American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein produced 'Masterpiece' in 1962 in which a blond woman is talking with her friend 'Brad', the heroic character that Lichtenstein incorporated in some of his paintings. The artist used the Ben Day dot printing process in which small colored dots are closely spaced, widely spaced, or overlapped.
Lichtenstein added a thought bubble, a convention of comic book art, to create a story between the two subjects.
About the Artist
Roy Lichtenstein was an American pop artist who is famous for his use of cartoon strips from American comic books, which were very popular the 1950s.
