'Yellow Chopper Wrong War' Cardboard Souvenir 2003 Attributed to Banksy

An extremely rare item it is one of the few with the sticker "STOP THE WAR". Many of these demonstration signs were destroyed or discarded after the demonstration because Banksy was not a famous artist at the time. In good condition and kept in a place protected from sunlight. Provenance: private collection Netherlands.

London 2003, the item can most likely be attributed to the anti-war protests before the Iraq war demonstrations, where posters with various Banksy motifs were presented by the artist and carried by the protesters as a protest. Presumably the panel has been attached to something because it has holes in the cardboard.

About Banksy

Known for his anti-authoritarian art, often done in public places, Banksy is an anonymous graffiti artist who merged graffiti art with installation and performance art.
