Dreams and smiles for children hospitalized at the Cancer Institute.

A happy child has more strength to face illness and get better.

This is something the 32 Dream Doctors Fondazione Theodora Onlus understand. They’re professional artists who have been trained to work in the pediatric hospital setting and who every year give the gift of a smile to over 35,000 children and approximately 105,000 family members in 42 pediatric wards across 18 Italian hospital units.

With their colorful gowns and imaginative names, the Dream Doctors alleviates the suffering of young patients through personalized visits based on age, mood, medical and family conditions. In order to be able to continue to guarantee these special visits to over 450 children admitted to the National Cancer Institute of Milan, Theodora Foundation Onlus has launched this fundraising project.

We, the parents forced to see our children suffer, shed many tears and some of them you manage to turn into tears of joy. When you see them so happy for a few minutes you completely forget they’re in a hospital bed. Lorenzo hasn’t stopped taking "wet photos" of anyone who comes near his bed and he tells them all that the camera was given to him by a REAL clown, who’s now his friend ...
