Help purchasing 2 mechanical beds for patients in Hospice

The Stars in Sport Project for Gigi Ghirotti.

Stars in Sport is a project that was set up in 2000 to support and boost sporting excellence in the Liguria region of Italy under the umbrella of Coni Liguria with the patronage of Ussi, the Region of Liguria and the Municipality of Genoa.

We promote the culture and values of sport, which can act as an extraordinary educational and socio-cultural tool.

Across 20 editions of Stars in Sport we have organized 1,160 events, awarded 393 athletes and 200 sports clubs and involved 135 ambassadors and 31,000 spectators in the Gala event. 55,000 students and over 800,000 members of the public took part in the Genoa Sports Festival.

From the start we have done it all in the support of Gigi Ghirotti Onlus, an association chaired by Prof. Franco Henriquet that assists the terminally ill and those affected by motor neurone disease at home or in the Hospice at the Genoa Pontedecimo and Genoa Albaro facilities. Over the past 20 years we have been able to donate over 300,000 euros.

Our hope is to raise another 10,000 euros on Giving Tuesday for the purchase of two mechanical beds that are needed for the admission of patients at the Genoa Pontedecimo facility.
