Join Yamaha and Simone to Procect the Oceans
Yamaha for One Ocean Foundation
The Mark of Adventure is a Yamaha Marine project that aims to raise awareness on how to adopt sustainable behavior, from small daily gestures right up to business models. Yamaha wants to leave a trace, a mark, a footprint. So it launched a challenge for Simone Zignoli, an ambassador who has experience of living differently in order to limit envioronmental impact. In August, Simone circumnavigated Sardinia on a jet ski, tracking down people who have made sustainable living a way of life. From there came the idea for a second adventure: to cross by jet ski from the island of Culuccia, also in Sardinia, to Genoa, arrivng at at the Boat Show.
In addidtion to the destination, he also wants to add another challenge within the challenge: to raise funds to support One Ocean Foundation with its No plastic in the Ocean project.
The initiative is focussed on collecting plastic around the coastal areas of developing countries, in collaboration with the NGO Plastic Bank. The material is traced and becomes part of a recovery and recycling process.
The project areas of action are:
• environmental - collection
• social - community involvement
• economical - recycling
These are the footprints we should be leaving, the ones that make the difference. If we all come together to leave a footprint and make the chain work, the total funds raised will result in the well-being of the oceans, the continued provision of jobs linked to them greater production of oxygen that from the sea and a positive climatic effect.
By following The Mark of Sustainability and joining the No plastic in the Ocean campaign you’ll be playing an important role by taking contcrete action, for yourself and for others.
