The region is a true feast for your senses, and speaking of feasts, you'll enjoy a cooking show and wine tour!
Just one hour drive from arguably the most beautiful city in the world, Florence, and less than two hours’ drive to historic Rome, Tuscany hosts innumerable astounding localities, many of which are also named UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From the Etruscans to the Romans to the Renaissance, Tuscany is possibly the greatest repository of art in the world, from extraordinary paintings and sculpture to frescoes and architectural masterpieces. Cortona, with its medieval walls still intact, sits in a strategic position overlooking the valley that leads south into Umbria and towards Rome. Spend some time exploring the landmarks of this historic city, such as the Piazza della Republica, the 13th century town hall and clock tower that is now one of Cortona's main plazas, or the Duomo, the Renaissance cathedral featuring an 11th century facade and gorgeous 16th and 17th century paintings inside.
Holiday in your own magnificent four-bedroom villa! This meticulously restored 16th century Italian manor features ensuite bathrooms with each bedroom, a private pool and simply stunning views over the rolling hills. Located in the foothills of famous, historic Castiglion Fiorentino, you'll have easy access to explore all the magical sights of Pisa, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano and more. Immerse yourself in the enviable Tuscan lifestyle of dining al fresco on the patio, sipping aperitifs or espressos at sidewalk bistros, and shopping trips to the open-air markets for fresh produce - you may never want to leave!
In a region known for its artfully-crafted wines, rich olives, artisanal cheese and delicate pasta, the quintessential Tuscan experience revolves around culinary delights! One night a private chef will come to your villa for a special cooking lesson, learning the art of handmade pasta with its traditional sauces and the secrets of Tiramisù pudding. After the cooking show is complete you will eat dinner with wine and water for all! The next day you will be picked up in a minivan directly from the villa, to embark on a wine & cheese tour of the surrounding area. The 1st stop will be in a local winery, for a visit and wine tasting. The 2nd stop will be in a family-run Tuscan cheese farm, for a visit and cheese tasting.
