First Responders Children's Foundation supports the children and families of first responder heroes who risk their lives every day in service to our communities. The Foundation was established in the aftermath of 9/11 when over 800 children lost a first responder parent in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Now, on the 20th Anniversary of that harrowing day, they continue to provide financial support to children who have lost a first responder parent in the line of duty, as well as families enduring significant financial hardship due to tragic circumstances.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, First Responders Children's Foundation launched the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund that impacted 530,000 children and 232,000 first responder families, including nurses, medical personnel and support staff in the Foundations response.

When a first responder is killed or injured in the line of duty, First Responders Children's Foundation ensures that their children and families receive the support they need, including financial and bereavement assistance, scholarship funding, mental health services and more.

Funds from the Parade of Trees holiday program (brought to you by the incredible artists of Universal Music Group Nashville as part of Gaylord Opryland Resort’s: A Country Christmas) will be allocated to two core First Responder Children's Foundation areas of focus in need of funding:

Scholarship Program: Providing college scholarships to the children of first responder heroes who lost their lives and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Mental and Behavioral Health Program: Providing funding in response to depression and post-traumatic stress disorder occurring at alarming rates amongst first responders and sadly, their children.
