Variety, the Children’s Charity, Celebrity 100 Auction
Variety is lucky enough to have the support of many well-known celebrities, many of whom have donated memorabilia, costumes, personal items and ‘meet and greets’.
In the UK there are more than 1.3 million disabled children and nearly four million children living in poverty. Variety, the Children’s Charity, exists to improve their lives. We believe that all children should have an equal opportunity to reach their potential, regardless of circumstances or disabilities. We offer practical tangible help that makes an immediate difference to children and young people aged 18 and under. This includes grants for specialist disability equipment and wheelchairs that are not available through statutory services. It also includes our iconic Sunshine Coaches that provide adapted accessible transport for SEND schools and other non-profit organisations. We also offer memorable day trips and outings.
The pandemic has had a devastating impact on disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK. Many more children are now living in poverty, while the loss of support services has taken a severe toll.
Here at Variety, we have seen the demand for our services soar. At the same time, with live fundraising events now cancelled, our income streams have dwindled, leaving us struggling to help the vulnerable children we work with.
