MUSIC OPERATORS JOIN FORCES FOR THE FUTURE OF MUSIC

The WORKERS project was set up by Zona5 and Bauli in Piazza to give a voice and a face to operators in the entertainment, music and events industry. "We wanted to give a face to these professionals and their experiences, as well as their indispensable expertise that is truly indispensible in the setting up and execution of live concerts and events”, says ZONA5 founder Lorenzo Tononi. It is these professionals who have decided to auction off some of their most treasured belongings in order to support young people from neighborhoods on the outskirts of Milan. The proceeds from these auctions will be used to organize free workshops held by music professionals that aim to introduce young people to music industry professions. " One of the main aims of our program is to pass on knowledge that we’ve generally gained through years of experiences and on-the-job learning. Over the course of the pandemic it’s become impossible to take new recruits on the road so we decided it would be wonderful to hold seminars that give young people a chance to get to know to our professions - particularly within deprived areas of the City of Milan", says Maurizio Cappellini, among the founders of the Bauli In Piazza committee.
